Types Pink Eye Conjunctivitis

I’ve had pink eye for 4 weeks and I’m in a foreign country, what do I do?

I’ve had pink eye ( retinal conjunctivitis) going on for about 4 weeks now. Yes, I know for a fact it’s pink eye because it has every single symptom and has been diagnosed by a Dr. I’ve been taking excellent care of it by washing my hands with anti-bacterial soap, not touching my eyes/face ect, keeping my eyes clean, and administering the anti-bacterial drops exactly as the directions say. However, it’s not going away!! I’ve told the Dr this, but I am living in the U.K. for a year, and they don’t seem to view chronic pink eye that is resistant to two types of prescription medicine as a concern. They keep telling me it will go away, but it’s almost been a month and it hasn’t. One Dr even said it was viral pink eye, but there’s been waaaay too much pus for it to seem viral and it’s really contagious cause I gave it to my friend. Basically I don’t want to have to fly home just to get pink eye to go away, but it’s been a month and it’s not getting better. What should I do?

I would try another doctor. If they can’t help you, you may have no choice but to fly home to get treated.
