Ets Surgery Blushing
Ets Surgery Blushing
The results of ETS (Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy) surgery?
I was wondering if anybody, preferably people who have had the operation to remove hyperhidrosis, excessive blushing etc, could tell me how they are getting along afterwards. I suffer from palmar hyperhidrosis and just want to know more about the effects of the surgery as apparently in many cases it causes compensatory sweating. Any answers will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Emily,
I had ETS nearly 5 years ago at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I am happy with my results, but you are right about the risk of compensatory sweating. I publish a new website that is for people who suffer from hyperhidrosis and offer a free report that details all the very real risks of ETS, the possible benefits, and how to research the subject on your own. There is also a section devoted to figuring out if your insurance policy will pay for it. Unfortunately, the report has not been installed on my site yet! If you go to my site and leave a comment on the blog section, I think I would be able to email the report to you if you want it. I know how confusing the whole matter is and that is why I felt compelled to write the report. I hope I can help you–

PS ETS is not intended to alleviate craniofacial hyperhidrosis/blushing but it can be a “happy” byproduct of the procedure– just thought you should know.
