What color lip tint is right for me?
I’m interesting in trying this product…

But I’m horrible at choosing colors for lipstick and lip gloss. For some reason they just never look right. I guess I pick shades I like rather than ones that would look good on me. I have brown hair and eyes and fair skin. I’m also looking for a very natural look, not overdone. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, just a little foundation and pink blush, plus mascara and dark brown eyeliner.
What colors do you think would be best?
I know what you mean, I used to have the same problem! This is what worked for me, (after suggestion from my friend whose lipstick always looks fabulous):
Buy a bunch (5-10?) of different shades from Wet’N'Wild. Most stores where I live sell them for 99 cents each, so you can get a lot without spending a lot of money (vs. $10 each!). It’s surprising how very similar shades can have a very different look on your lips. You can see how you look in various colors and shades. Even try some reds for fun- you might just love it. I personally can’t stand wearing this brand for real as it has a funny taste and tends to get cakey, but it’s a great fashion experiment. Pick a few that you like best, and commit to wearing them at home for a few days, so you get used to seeing your face with lipstick on. For me, all lipstick looked wierd at first b/c I wasn’t used to it. Now I don’t feel put together w/out some, and I have several colors that I use for different occasions, from subtle pink to dark red. I never thought that I would wear red lipstick, but now it’s my favorite (just not always suitable, lol).
Or you could go to a make-up counter in a dept store like Macy’s or Sears. They can make suggestions and try a few out on you. If you love one, you can buy it from them.
My favorite brand now is Revlon’s ‘Shiny Sheers.’ There are lightweight, smooth, no funny taste, and they wear evenly with no clumping. It feels almost like a balm but with amazing color. They are around $6.
