Clinique Blush Brush
Clinique Blush Brush
What to make my concealer less cakey?
I went to the girls school bathroom and I when I check in the mirror I saw that my concealer was all dry and cakey. I have combination skin; and I cleanse and moisturize twice everyday. I also exfloilate twice a week. The things I do when I get ready which is cleanse and moisturize, after that I put on my Anew eye cream (clinical eye lift ). Than I put my face primer on( Avon magix face perfecter). After that I put on my mascara and I apply my concealer on with my ring finger. Then I put on my pressed power (clinique pressed power) with a brush. when I’m done with that I get the face power sponge and pat some power on my concealer. Last thing is just to put on blush.
Is there any way to make concealer less cakey and make it look more flawless. Also tell if I’m doing anything wrong when putting on my makeup.
Thanks(:
I was similarly doing the same TIL I got tired of the cakey-dry look.
I found that liquid foundation works best for me right now. I used to use Bare Minerals, but I found it too dry or not enough coverage.
My usual routine now:
Clean face, moisturize if you need to.
Primer (Smashbox’s Photo Light Finish works best for my oily-combo skin).
Liquid Foundation (I use MAC or Sue Devitt…I like to flip-flop, depends on what I feel like)…Oil-free and water-based…don’t need a lot to have good coverage.
Concealer ( I use MAC’s SPF35 Studio Finish or Sue Devitt’s Bermuda Triangle)
Blend well.
Set with powder.
*As much as possible, put concealer or foundation (unless it’s Sue Devitt…you can use your fingers) with appropriate brush(es)…Your fingertips have oils that can ruin or spread around your makeup.
I have never been a liquid-foundation girl before…but it does make a big difference in eye concealer looking less cakey or not cakey at all.
I suggest you go into a MAC or MACY’s; they can do a makeover with no obligation to buy anything. They can teach you better ways to apply your makeup too. Sometimes you will find some makeup artists are better than others.
